Have you been poked by a feather from your down duvet? Finding down and feathers on your floor? Do you replace duvets every couple of years?
If your answer is yes, then you know. The reason is the quality of the down inside your duvet.
90% down implies 10% feathers, which means a heavier duvet to achieve the same warmth as a duvet filled with 100% down, as well as a shorter lifespan due to feathers poking through the fabric.

Goose down is larger, softer, and more resilient than duck down, making it ideal for luxury bedding items.
We’re often asked about the difference between goose vs duck down duvets. Because we only manufacture down duvets of the highest quality, we use goose or Eiderdown, not duck.
Goose down is the preferred choice for those looking for the ultimate cosy night’s sleep due to its levels of warmth and softness.
Our reason for this is that goose is exceptionally higher quality than duck. It has a higher insulating power (around 15% more), it softer, and has virtually no smell.
Down duvets made from 90% down or less are scratchy and noisy. Because they are mixed with feathers, they are also sharper, which leads to holes forming in your duvet. This makes down fall out (leaving feathers all over the bedroom floor) and shortens the lifespan of your duvet.
Originating from the protected Eider Duck species in Iceland and Scandinavia, these high-quality down feathers are handpicked from the Eider Duck’s nest at the end of the breeding season.
To ensure responsible sourcing and wildlife conservation, only a limited amount of down can be taken from an Eider Duck’s nest annually. This is why eiderdown duvets are considered so rare and prestigious.
